My daughter looked at the slip of paper sticking out of my book and said, “What’s that?” “It’s a book mark.” She pulled it out and said, “No, it’s not.”

Sometimes coffee talks to me. It tells me to drink more coffee. Coffee wants me to be exclusive but then keeps me up all night talking about itself. I like tea better because it is not so bossy and allows me to see other beverages.

I write. This is my chance to expand on that right. I’ve been writing for years, possible even decades, but it never seems to be enough. There have been people writing before I was even born! Man, I’ll never catch up to those guys.
